Who we are

Everything Autism provides highly specialist and timely autism diagnostic assessments.  These include screening assessments, full in-depth assessments to explore a diagnosis of autism and post-diagnostic support.

 

What personal information we collect

Personal information includes your name, address or phone number and other information that isn’t otherwise publicly available.

The type of information we collect will depend on the purpose for which it is collected and includes:

Personal identifiers including;

  • Contact details
  • Information to verify your identity
  • Family, lifestyle, and health
  • Payment details

We collect information directly from you or, where the person receiving services is under the age of 18 years old, we will also collect personal data, as stated above, of the person(s) with parental responsibility who is requesting the services on their behalf.

 

Special Category Information

In most instances it is necessary to collect more sensitive information (such as health or lifestyle information and information regarding family history) which is called special category data.  This is to allow us to provide our assessment services to you. We will always obtain your consent during the advice process to gather this data and explain what information we require and why it is needed. Sensitive personal information will always be processed and stored securely. You can withdraw your consent at any time to us processing this data, however, this may mean that you can no longer access the services the information was gathered for.

 

Cookies

We also collect information about you from other sources. For example, our website automatically collects information from your computer using “cookies” which provides us with limited personal information. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They’re widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the website owners. Data retention

Up to the age of 18

The following documents will be kept and stored digitally and securely up until the child’s 25th Birthday (or their 26 Birthday where the episode of care ended at 17 years of age) or for a period of 20 years for any children who receive services after their 5th birthday. Should the episode of care be re- opened again at any time during the 20 year period, the 20 years will re commence from the point of the episode of care ending.

Age 18 and over

The following documents will be kept and stored digitally and securely for 8 years once the assessment is completed and the episode of care ended. Should the episode of care be re- opened again at any time during the 8 year period, the 8 years will re commence from the point of the episode of care ending.

  • Autism Assessment Reports
  • Recordings made during the assessment

Once the specified period of time has elapsed, documents will be subject to an appraisal. Once deemed appropriate for disposal, records will be destroyed.

 

On what basis do we collect data

The processing of your personal data is allowed under a number of lawful bases. The data required for the provision of services is processed on the basis there’s a contract with you to do so.  Any relevant marketing activity we undertake is done because, as a firm, we have a legitimate interest to do so. However, you have rights, as listed below, which impact how we can use and process your data.

 

How we use your personal information

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • To inform clinical decision making
  • To allow sharing of information between professionals working with or supporting the child/young person/adult
  • To inform recommendations following an episode of care

 

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • Information provided by those working with/supporting the child, young person or adult, examples include but are not limited to; education settings, health care providers, social care providers and employers in order to;
    • Inform clinical decision making
    • Inform recommendations following an episode of care

Your consent to liaise with others will always be sought prior to this happening.

We use the information that you have given us in order to:

  • Make decisions about assessment/treatment
  • Provide advice and recommendations

Who we share your information with and why

  • We may share this information with the local authority safeguarding team where safeguarding concerns are identified.
  • Third parties who perform tasks for us to help us organise and deliver our services;
  • Other organisations, including regulatory bodies, the police and fraud prevention agencies, to prevent and detect fraud;
  • Third parties where required by law, court order or regulation; and
  • Third parties as part of an acquisition or sale

 

How we keep your information secure

We’re committed to ensuring the confidentiality of the personal information that we hold and we continue to review our security controls and related policies and procedures to ensure that your personal information remains secure.

When we contract with third parties, we impose appropriate security, privacy and confidentiality obligations on them to ensure that personal information is kept secure.

If we work with third parties in countries outside the UK, we ensure these countries have an adequate level of protection for personal information, or the organisation receiving the personal data has provided adequate safeguards. 

In limited circumstances, data may be accessed outside of the UK i.e. by employees when they travel.  In these circumstances, we ensure there are appropriate information security measures in place to safeguard your information.

You may opt out at any time if you don’t want to receive any further communications of this nature.
